7–8 February. 'Homenaje a Macama Jonda: el flamenco como herramienta intercultural'. Matthew Machin-Autenrieth will present a film Showing and concert with Suhail Ensemble and Jalal Chekara at La Peña Flamenca la Plateria in Granada.
9–10 February. Yallah: Judeo-Arabic Music Workshop and Conference. Hosted by the Jewish Music Institute in collaboration with MESG. To be held at SOAS, University of London. Vanessa P. Duncan Elbáz is one of the two co-convenors and will be speaking on Judeo-Arabic songs from Casablanca on Hitler and WWII. Steve Wilford will host an exhibition of postcards from colonial-era Algeria.
12 February. Matthew Machin-Autenrieth, Vanessa Paloma Elbaz and Eric Petzoldt will present on their research at the Woolf Institute Music Research Afternoon, with the Oxford Centre for Hebrew and Jewish Studies.
13 February. Edwin Seroussi will deliver a guest lecture at the Faculty of Music, University of Cambridge entitled 'Liturgy: An Overlooked Corner of the Moroccan Jewish Musical Map'.
21–22 February. Matthew Machin-Autenrieth will present at the ICTM Ireland annual conference at University College Cork, Ireland. The theme is 'Music, Politics, Power'.
11 March. Matthew Machin-Autenrieth will present at the Royal Anthropological Institute Research Seminar.
12 March. Matthew Machin-Autenrieth, Steve Wilford and Vanessa Paloma Elbaz will speak at the Cambridge World History Workshop.
27–29 May. The MESG project will host a workshop entitled Musical Afterlives of al-Andalus: Identities and Encounters beyond History, to be held at the Woolf Institute. The workshop will include a keynote delivered by Jonathan Shannon.
