Round Table: Jazz in and from Morocco + Q&A
(In French, with subtitles in English and French)
This round table brings together Moroccan musician and filmmaker Réda Zine, Moroccan musician and festival director Majid Bekkas, and French bassist-improviser Yoram Rosilio. They take turns and present video clips of their musical works, adding anecdotes on their music-making and specific projects, which make Europeans and Moroccans meet. We are rescreening this round table, which MESG PhD student Eric Petzoldt hosted for the event ‘Jazz du Maroc à l’honneur’ in Marseille at Le Gyptis, the cinema of the cultural factory La Friche Belle de Mai, in May 2022. After the round table, we reconvene for a 45-minute Zoom discussion with Zine, Bekkas and Rosilio.
